Team Training
We train in three groups and focus on a game sense approach; this engages the players in minor and modified games strategies and concepts where there are opportunities to develop both skills and an understanding of the tactics of the game. Children need to be suitably dressed.
All players who attend regular training will be offered the opportunity to play in competitive matches if they wish. Teams are created depending on individual ability and a balance of team skills. Selection is based on attendance at training sessions, skill progression and a willingness to be a team player. Information about the league and the Sunday match fixture list can be found here.
Junior Group
The Junior Group is aimed at years 4, 5 and 6 and feed into our Under 11 squad. The group is led by Alice Green and focuses on Bee Netball, a friendly, high energy and carefully designed game for younger players. Bee Netball is a fun and nurturing programme for children at the beginning of their netball journey and is designed to introduce the basic netball skills of throwing, catching, footwork and shooting.
Senior Groups
The two Senior Group sessions are aimed at, but not exclusive to, years 7 – 11. These groups provide our Under 12, 14 and 16 squads and are led by Sophie Burgoyne, Catherine Pound and Clare Davis with Gail Robinson supporting. These sessions focus on creating a playing environment where players can improve their skills, fitness, team building, communication and strategic play. Everyone in this age group play with and against their peers; this encourages a positive and friendly learning setting.
