Changes to match schedule for Spring Term 2023

Some changes have been made to the match schedule as follows:

  • Telford Pumas have withdrawn from the league and therefore the scheduled matches on 12 February and 12 March v. Bright Flames have been cancelled.
  • The match between Bright Flames and Wenlock Gold on 12 February is now at the earlier time of 14:30 (instead of 15:30).
  • The match between Blazing Flames and Oswestry Ospreys on 12 February is now at the earlier time of 14:30 (instead of 15:30).
  • Match schedules for Glowing Flames have now also been added.

Match Schedule – Spring Term 2023

The league fixture schedule for Spring Term 2023 has now been updated, see here.

Note that for Glowing Flames, the initial matches on 29/01/23 will determine the schedule for the rest of the term: we will update the schedule once these remaining matches are known.

Year 5 and 6 Recruitment Drive

With plans afoot to extend the session times, we are able to take on some new players in the younger age group. If you are aware of any children who will be in Years 5 or 6 when the season starts in September who would like to join the club then please ask them to message hello@flamesnetball.co.uk. Let us know the Child’s Name / Date of Birth / School Year in Sept / Name of School.

Further details can be found here.

Sponsorship from LandScope Engineering

At the most recent committee meeting it was agreed that the fees for next season would have to be raised to mitigate for rising costs to run the club. LandScope Engineering have however kindly donated £400 towards sponsorship of Flames to enable the club to keep the fees the same in September.

LandScope has a strong sustainability policy and recognises the importance of local grassroots sports to communities. They hope this donation will go some way to shelter children from the effects of the cost-of-living crisis that may be affecting families this coming year. A huge thank you to Martin Berry and the team at Picklescott – it is very much appreciated!

Player Questionnaire

Given the growth of the club there are a number of options for how we can structure training and match playing opportunities for everyone, and therefore the composition of the teams we can put forward to play in the Shropshire Junior Netball League next season. We want the club to reflect the choices of the players and would therefore be grateful if every player could complete the Season 2022/23 questionnaire.

If each player could complete this survey by Sunday 31st July that would be great. Children in the same family may need to use two different devices as Google Forms will recognise the IP address from where the form is submitted and discount duplicates.

Newsletter July 2022

The most recent newsletter with information about a questionnaire, term dates next season, fees and donations to the club, and more can be found here.

The Flames Questionnaire needs to be submitted by each child from a different device to avoid IP address conflicts. All players responses before Sunday 31st July please.
