We have narrowed down the field of netball match dresses to two, and we would like the players to pick which one they would like best!

The system is set up so that every player can only vote once. However, if you have more than one player in the household, simply forward the link to another device (phone, tablet, computer) and it should allow another vote.

Flames Netball Club are the lucky recipients of a Stretton Focus Community Award. We are so grateful to Tom Beaumont and the rest of the committee for the time spent helping us with the application. The award is much appreciated and will make a big contribution towards getting the new match dresses and other fundraising goals.

The girls smashed their target of 400 hoops – scoring a whopping 1525 hoops during the three fifteen-minute sessions! There were five groups of five children taking it in turns to have 10 shots at goal, and then hula-hooping until their next turn at the Hoop. There were a variety of fancy dress outfits, and it was lovely just to be outdoors together as a club having fun again.

Thanks so much to all of those involved helping to keep everything on track on the day, and to those who kindly sponsored the children in their endeavours to raise money for their new dresses and our other fundraising endeavours.

We will let you know as soon as we have a grand total, but we are confident that with the other grants we received we should have enough to put a dress order in imminently.

Don’t forget it’s the Hoopathon this coming Friday – 24th September.

Session time for all Flames members is 6-7.30pm.

Let’s see how many hoops we can score as a club during that time, and whilst you are waiting for your turn to shoot, get those hula hoops twirling! Fancy dress is optional.

We have made great progress with the bake sale (all that time ago), and a generous donation from Reverend Henry Fletcher’s, Munslow’s and Poor’s Land Charity – we are getting close to being able to get the new match dresses, whilst also paying for the coaches training, let’s see if we can smash our fundraising goals.

Flames Netball are welcoming new members, so if you are in school years 5 to 11 and would like to give our netball club a try, why not come along to a training practice – it would be great to meet you.

Through regular training sessions and matches we aim to create a club environment that promotes enjoyment, friendships, skills development, an understanding of teamwork, individual achievement, and above all, respect for each other in a sporting environment.

From Friday 10th September onwards, sessions will once again take place at the Church Stretton Leisure Centre on Friday nights on the indoor courts.

5.30 to 6.45: School years 9/10/11

6.45 to 8.00: School years 5/6/ 7/8

The Flames Netball Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday 9th September 2021 at 7pm via Zoom. This is an open meeting and all are welcome to join the committee and coaches to discuss ‘The Year That Was’ and all the exciting plans going forward!!!
